About Me

Jorge C. Lucero

My name is Jorge C. Lucero, and I’m a professor of computer science at the University of Brasília. My academic background is in technology, but I’ve long been drawn to the beauty and structure of early printed texts — especially those with sacred or historical significance.

This project grew from that intersection: a desire to restore, reinterpret, and re-present historical works not as distant artifacts, but as living visual expressions of meaning and devotion. I see these works — from figure poems to Psalters to typographic Bibles — as acts of reverence and design, where the layout and lettering are part of the message. In recreating them, I approach each page with scholarly care and spiritual attentiveness, letting the structure speak while adding just enough clarity to make it resonate with modern viewers.

Some of the pieces are devotional, others are typographic marvels, but all are built on a shared tradition of craft, symbolism, and sacred text. This is my way of honoring that legacy — not by imitating it, but by letting it live again through digital tools and the quiet discipline of reconstruction.

Thank you for taking the time to explore this work.
